I am a holistic and integrative dietitian.
I am also a practitioner of internal family systems therapy (IFS).
Are you struggling with anxiety around food? Weight issues? Eating behaviors that won't seem to change? Body image issues? You don't have to keep struggling!
I can help you. I promise.
I combine nutrition science with a holistic approach to behavior change, which includes investigating repetitive patterns and the unconscious or conscious blocks to success. Some people only need the nutrition piece. Some people only need the therapeutic, deep healing piece. Most people need a little of both.
My education is from Cornell University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I have years of experience advanced training as an Eating Disorder Clinician and certifications in Integrative/Holistic Nutrition and Adult Weight Management. I and am a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.
In addition to internal family systems, I have been influenced greatly by the work of Byron Katie, the teachings of the enneagram, the teachings of intuitive and mindful eating, teachings in 12 step programs and addiction, DBT therapy and several spiritual modalities.
To schedule an appointment or to ask specific questions about my services, you can use the form on the home page of this website or send me an email at betsy@betsythurstonrd.com.
I see people either in my Marietta, Georgia office or by video chat or phone.
Learning how to change your relationship with eating can also change your relationship with everything.
My approach is practical. No nonsense. Results oriented.
